Sam Billings hit his second one-day international 50 as England beat West Indies in Antigua.

The 25-year-old Kent Cricket Academy graduate opened the batting and helped the tourists recover from 29 for two to post 296.

He shared a vital stand of 67 in 14.1 overs with captain Eoin Morgan (107) to steady the ship.

The right-hander hit seven boundaries in a fluent innings at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, where Kent had played four matches on the FGS Plant Tour last month.

Morgan added 110 with Ben Stokes (55) before Moeen Ali hit 31 off 22 balls to get England up to a defendable total.

Billings took a good catch at deep mid-wicket as Liam Plunkett and Chris Woakes took four wickets each to dismiss the hosts for 251 and take a 1-0 series lead.

The two sides meet again on Sunday at the same ground before the third and final match of the series in Barbados on Thursday (9 March).
